Brief History of

In May
2002 the high cost of renting the conference room for just two days
a week caused us to start seeking a place that we could rent for
ourselves and use every day of the week for church purposes. By
this time, too, the Source Resource Center was fully functional,
and we all saw the wisdom in combining the church and the Source
into one physical location, in order to make the Source a more visible
outreach of the church’s ministry.
The
Lord really worked things out, because right away Shane was directed
to another minister in town whose church was soon moving out of
their current location, right on the main street of town. Within
days Shane was able to meet with the landlady and a deal was reached
that allowed MCC to move in to the building immediately after
the other church moved out. This was a very big blessing, because
it was very difficult to find the right kind of rental property
in Mbarara at that time, and a person needed "connections"
in order to accomplish such a deal. At that time, MCC didn't really
have any good connections except one: God!
The
Lord helped us again just a few months later by providing another
room next door to the church as a place to put the Source computers.
This happened during a time of prayer, on the very same day that
we were asking the Lord to provide such a space for the Source!
